In an annual competition, the VDI honors engineers and their teams for excellent performance with particular reference to Women in Engineering.

As part of this competition, our group combustion technology and its collaborator Daniela Baris were honored for their outstanding achievements around our pilot plant "Apello13". Daniela Baris is research assistant at our institute since 2014 and plays an important part in the working group combustion technology under the direction of Dr.-Ing. H.-J. Gehrmann.

The exhibit of the experimental plant "Apello 13" was presented at the booth of the VDI at the Hanover Fair in April 2015. The achievements related to the pilot plant and the associated patent application were thus presented to the visiting public. The trade public nominated the project Apello 13 for the second place.
