Characterization of the combustion behavior including emissions from low grade fuels in pulverized multifuel burners and grate systems

  • Pulverized fuel combustion
    Research on the influence of the method of feeding the fuels (central or not central) with alternative fuels, biomass and coal on the combustion and emission characteristics, correlation of combustion-related parameters with optical parameters of the camera-based process control (in cooperation with the Institute for Applied Computer Science)

    Influence of load and fuel flex on the combustion and emission characteristics
     
  • Grate Technology
    Characterization of the combustion and emission behavior of mixed solid fuels in a fixed bed in a pilot scale grate facility

    Development of a methematical model for the combustion in a fixed bed and validation of the numerical model
     
  • Pellet Stove
    Erection and start-up of a new pellet stove "Apello 13" with the advantage of an increase of load flexibility as an instantaneous water heater for solid fuels
