Our research focus is the application and the advancement of analytical methods at the "cutting edge" of materials analysis. Our unique feature is the combination of various highly specialized diagnostic methods: Inorganic bulk material composition and the quantitative analysis of gaseous products are related to mineralogical phase analysis, and spectroscopic imaging techniques are used to investigate surface reactions in-situ and at nanoscale. We develop new methods and analyse a wide range of inorganic and organic materials for material recycling research.
Our goal is to fundamentally describe materials and material behavior in the technical process chemically, mineralogically, and reaction kinetically, and to mathematically model the reaction behavior. We thus set new standards and the scientific basis for further improvement of innovative resource- and energy-efficient processes.
