Social Events

Light Festival Karlsruhe

In parallel to ISFR 2026, the Light Festival – a projection‑mapping festival – will take place in Karlsruhe.

International artists will create 3‑D video mappings that are projected onto the palace façade, producing one of Europe’s largest audiovisual digital artworks.

Under the motto “Lightyard Stories: Visions of Urban Living Spaces,” Karlsruhe celebrates the outstanding architecture of its UNESCO‑designated City of Media Arts and the vibrant life and culture it fosters.

Participants are warmly invited to explore independently this distinguished cultural event. The impressive light‑ and media installations provide an inspiring cultural highlight and complement the conference programme excellently. Admission is free.

We recommend the visit on September 6th or 7th, 2026.

Guided Walking Tour: "Karlsruhe Brewing History"

This guided walking tour on September 8th, 2026 offers a concise introduction to the history of brewing in Karlsruhe, combined with key insights into the city’s urban development and major sightseeing highlights. Starting at the Karlsruhe Palace, participants will explore landmarks of the city center while learning about the cultural and economic role of beer in Karlsruhe’s past. The tour concludes at the Hoepfner Castle Courtyard, where the evening event takes place.

Networking Party Dinner at Hoepfner Schalander

The Hoepfner Schalander combines historic brewing tradition with modern gastronomy. Located within the renowned Hoepfner site, the venue offers a stylish setting for a memorable evening. Its authentic character, regional cuisine, and central location provide the ideal framework for a joint conference dinner on September 8th, 2026.
